This stop-motion video was produced by Lynne Harty in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Grove Arcade’s reopening in 2012. Please enjoy the beautiful images set to the music of Ol’ Hoopty. Over ten years ago we reopened and today Grove Arcade is as vibrant and as much of an essential downtown Asheville resource as we have ever been.
Built by E.W. Grove, the visionary and creator of the Grove Park Inn, the Grove Arcade opened in 1929 and thrived until World War II as one of the country’s leading public markets. The historically renovated Grove Arcade reopened to the public in 2002 as a destination featuring boutique shopping and exciting dining in a beloved downtown architectural wonder.
Learn more about our history.
Today at the Grove Arcade you will experience many, many different tastes, treats and treasures. From some of Asheville, NC’s best world cuisine, to the most sophisticated art pieces, to the quaintest of crafts…it is here. Visit us at the Grove Arcade and discover all of this for yourself.
This recent article by Capital at Play tells more of the Grove Arcade story very well.
