Even though Winter Wonderland and the holiday season have ended, winter remains a wonderful time to visit the beautiful, historic Grove Arcade. Yes, fortunately it’s warm inside as you walk the elegant halls, but there are many more reasons to plan a wintertime visit: about three dozen establishments featuring a delightful mix of local shopping, dining and essentials, all under one roof. Offerings range from handmade crafts to mission and modern furniture; southern comfort food to middle eastern flavors; printing, salons and eye care to watch repairs.
On the Battery Park Avenue end of the Grove Arcade is the Outdoor Artists Market. There you’ll find handmade jewelry, soap, paintings, clothing, wooden bowls and much more from regional artisans and vendors, who recently gathered for the above photo. It’s a terrific place to find the ideal gift and to learn more about our local culture.
